Third Grade Learning Goals Unit 3


Learning Goals: I will understand the importance of focusing on one task at a time and avoid multitasking while using a cellphone. 
*Use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.

Success Criteria:

I can click Digital Passport to sign into my account.
I can explain why cell phones are powerful, convenient tools used for communication.
I can identify situations in which cell phones can be rude or distracting.
I can reflect on the benefits of focusing on one task at a time.
I can work towards meeting my learning goal by playing Communication: Twalkers module.
                                        I can apply what I have learned by completing the Communication mission.


Learning Goals: I will take action to stop cyberbullying and be an "upstander." *Understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior

Success Criteria:

I can click Digital Passport to sign into my account.
I can compare different forms of cyberbullying and the roles of those involved.
I can empathize with situations and understand how targets of cyberbullying might feel.
I can identify ways to be an "upstander" when cyberbullying occurs.
I can work towards meeting my learning goal by playing Upstander: E-volve module.
                                        I can apply what I have learned by completing the Upstander mission.


Learning Goals: I will choose effective keywords to narrow my search online.  *Use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources

Success Criteria:

I can be selective when determining keywords to help me find information online.
I can evaluate keywords for their relevance and helpfulness.
I can practice identifying the most effective keywords for different search scenarios.
I can work towards meeting my learning goal by playing Search: Search Shark module.

Learning Goals: I will give proper credit to the artists whose images and sound clips I use.  *Understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior

Success Criteria:

I can explain the importance of copyright, credit and plagiarism and apply it to my own work.
I can reflect on the ethical importance of giving credit to others for their work.
I can determine how to receive credit for my own digital creations.
I can work towards meeting my learning goal by playing Creative Credit: Mix-n-Mash module.
                                        I can apply what I have learned by completing the Creative Credit mission.


Learning Goals: I will decide what information is appropriate to share online and understand that nothing is truly "private" or "erasable" online.  *Understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior

Success Criteria:

I can reflect on the benefits of sharing online, while acknowledging that information can spread fast and far.
I can classify (determine) information that should be kept private online.
I can predict the effect that an online post or message might have on someone's feelings and/or reputation.
I can work towards meeting my learning goal by playing Privacy: Share Jumper module.
                                        I can apply what I have learned by completing the Privacy mission.
