Enrollment Process
Information meetings are held monthly throughout the school year (see upcoming events for dates and times). To make sure that each applicant recieves information about all the programs the doors will be locked at the beginning of the information meetings. During the information meeting, attendees will learn specific information about all of the McLain Community High School programs. At that time, families will have the opportunity to submit an application to the program that best meets the needs of their student. The only time applications will be accepted is during the information meetings.
Wait list Prioritization
If the program you have selected is already full, we will place your name on that program’s wait list. Applicants on the wait list will be considered for admission to programs at McLain Community High School, as space becomes available, in the following order:

  1. Jefferson County residents with siblings who are currently enrolled at McLain and expected to continue at McLain in the following school year;
  2. Other Jefferson County residents;
  3. Nonresident children of McLain employees;
  4. Nonresident applicants with siblings who are expected to enroll at McLain in the following school year;
  5. Other nonresident applicants
