During the school year, you can find the information you need regularly (handouts, assignments, reading schedules, etc.) on Google Classroom.

Getting to know your teacher...

I graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, in 2005.  Through Wartburg, I student-taught in DPS at the Denver School of the Arts and at Manual High School.  I decided to pursue a teaching career in Colorado, and I have taught at Golden High School since August of 2005.

In 2009 I finished my course work at the University of Colorado at Denver, earning a Master's Degree in Secondary English Education.

In 2012 my husband, previously a Social Studies teacher also at GHS, and I participated in a teaching exchange to Australia.  We lived and taught in the Wollongong area of New South Wales.  We had an incredible experience!

As we begin a new school year, I am starting my thirteenth year of teaching.  During this time I have taught a variety of courses in English. This year I am teaching three AP Lit sections and two English 10 Honors sections.

My husband and I have a three-year-old son, Everett, who is a happy, busy boy!

Pondering the value of literature...

"Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become." --C.S. Lewis

"The decline of literature indicates the decline of a nation." --von Goethe

"Literature is where I go to explore the highest and lowest places in human society and in the human spirit, where I hope to find not absolute truth but the truth of the tale, of the imagination and of the heart." --Salman Rushdie
