Mrs. Dosh-Healy's Classroom

Finding balance in our lives is a challenge for all of us in today's world.

                 Welcome to Bergen Meadow!

Kindergarten is a magical year of learning for your child. I am so happy to be in kindergarten to help prepare your child for 1st grade.  This is an amazingly exciting year for your child.  We will have lots of fun learning new things through play, games, songs, stories, and interaction with each other on a daily basis, which will begin your child's journey into reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and the joy of live long learning!  Welcome aboard!

I am beginning my 16th year at Bergen Meadow and have taught for over 25 years in Arizona and Colorado.  I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in Home Economics Education, and then returned to school after four years of teaching high school to get certified in Elementary Education.  I have also taught fifth and second grades, and this will be my eleventh year teaching kindergarten here at Bergen Meadow. I also cherish the 11 years I was a stay-at-home mom!

I have been married for 37 years to my husband who is a retired pilot.  We have three grown daughters, a son-in-law, and two granddaughters (4yr. and 7 years old.)  We moved to Colorado in 1999 from Tucson, Arizona where I had lived for forty years. My family lived in Evergreen for nine years, and now we live in Golden.

My hobbies include gardening, reading, quilting, history, Tai Chi and Aqua Ai Chi.

I love to create new activities to make learning fun as well as build foundational skills.  I love teaching kindergarten because I can sing every day and share my love of reading through wonderful picture books.  I also love teaching children to think critically in math, science and social studies.  I have a knack for identifying student learning styles (perhaps because I am dyslexic myself) and providing them many opportunities and support for success.  Three years ago I completed district ESL (ELL) certification through Regis.  A love of learning is a passion I hope to pass on to each of my students so they will develop a thirst for life-long learning.
