Girls on the Run

Spring Season for Girls on the Run starts March 9 and ends May 18. Registration is open now. Girls will be inspired to a lifetime of self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through an innovative program that combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk race on May 13th with a weekly fun, health education lesson plan. Contact Mrs. Pippin for more information.

Geography Bee
Grades: 6-8
Students: All Students
Length: 1 to 2 days
Months: December and January
Time/Day: During school day
Requirements: Tryouts- Review your geographic knowledge. The written test will determine the 20 finalists.

Description: Students compete school wide testing their geography knowledge for the chance to represent Evergreen Middle School at the State Geography Bee!

Social Studies Teachers will administer a written geography test to determine the school finalists during the December window.

Grades: 6-8
Length: One school year

Requirements: School Year Commitment

Description: This club involves putting together the yearbook. Students do the following: photograph students, creating page layouts and captions and conduct student surveys for the yearbook. Applicants must be willing to work hard and have fun at the same time.

Interact with professionals in weekly hands-on lab sessions and discover new things in a fast-paced, thought-provoking, and fun way. It's your world now.

Spelling Bee 
Teacher: Mary Noto 
Grades: 6-8 
Students: Any students who qualify after taking a written spelling test in Language Arts class in December 
Length: One day. January/ February 
Time/Day:  During school day 
Description:  Students will participate in an oral spelling bee at Evergreen Middle School.  The top 4 or 5 finalists will go on to the Mountain Area Spelling Bee.  The winner of that spelling bee will go on to represent the Evergreen Mountain Schools in the CO State Bee.


Math Counts

Teachers: Rachel Ullrich

Grades: 6-8

Students: Any student interested in challenging and enriching their math skills

Length: September thru February - begins August 31, 2015

Time/Day: 3PM -4PM on Mondays  in Mrs. Ullrich's room (# 216)
