DHS Biology

This text-based course surveys the natural world, beginning with an extensive study of the cell and its inner workings, and including basic biochemistry and genetics. Evolutionary and ecological relationships among organisms are used to structure the study of each of the three domains: Archaea, Bacteria, and Eukarya. The anatomical and physiological relationships among several human body systems are explored. Throughout the year an understanding of structure, function and diversity is emphasized and supported with laboratory work.
