ALL STUDENTS:

~On Monday, September 25th, 7th graders are to sign up and report to their 7th hour class.  Counseling will overhead page 7th graders in 2 groups to report to the cafeteria to meet with their counselor for the annual needs assessment.

 

~Attention all stage crew for "Is He Dead?".  There will be no stage crew today, but please plan to work on sets tomorrow starting at 1:00 and continuing until 5:00.  See Mr. Murphy if you have any questions.

 

~Today we have colleges from Scotland, New York and South Carolina visiting in the counseling center.  Learn more about the University of Aberdeen at 1:15 pm in which you will need a pass to attend and during 7th hour the College of Charleston and Sarah Lawrence College.  As always sign up with NAVIANCE.

 

~The biggest College Fair in Colorado is this weekend.  Make sure you attend the Denver NACAC Fair this Sunday, Sept 24th, at the Denver Merchandise Mart from 1 to 4 pm.  Over 300 colleges and universities will be visiting with students.   This is a great way to see colleges that will not be visiting D’Evelyn.  Please pre-register. 

 

~The Out-of-State College Fair at Lakewood High School is on Sept 28th from 6:30 to 8 pm.  Mountain Vista High School In-Out of State College Fair is on Saturday Sept 30th from 10 am to 2 pm.  Please pre-register.

 ~The Latin American Educational Foundation Scholarship application opens today and closes Nov 20th, 2017.  Must be a Colorado resident and have a 3.0 gpa.  Stop by Counseling if interested.

~This week kicks off the two weeks surrounding the NACAC College Fair.  Colleges will be visiting us throughout the day in addition to 7th hour.  Students are welcome to come at any time with permission of their teacher.  Sign up using NAVIANCE so passes can be sent to you. 

 

~Attention all interested girl swimmers and divers, there will be a short swim/dive meeting at the beginning of 7th period today in the cafeteria.  Spread the word and bring a friend.  Sign up for a 7th period, check in, come to the meeting and then go back to 7th when we are done.

 

~It's time to get fired up again! Come to the third annual D'Evelyn bonfire on Wednesday September 27th from 5 to 9.  Bring your friends and enjoy food trucks and fun!

 

~Students:  Are you good at multi-tasking?  If so, prepare for Tie Dye Day AND support student council AND the Make a Wish Foundation all at the same time! It is simple, for only $10.00 you can purchase a one-of a-kind DHS Wish Week tie-dye t-shirt.  It will support Noah, our Make a Wish kid who was diagnosed with leukemia.  You will be set in style for spirit week and our special tie-dye day on Tuesday.  Shirts will be on sale during lunch, hurry to get the best selection. P.S. Hand wash twice in warm soapy water before washing with other clothes.

DAZZLING JAGS!!

 

 ~A huge congratulations to the D'Evelyn Marching Band for placing first at the Jeffco Marching Band Festival in 2A.  Thanks so much to the FOOTBALL team for coming out to support the band.  Thanks to all the teachers, admin, and students who came out to support our band.  GO JAGS!

 

~Our 4-0 varsity girls volleyball team is off to a great start with all games so far played on the road.  They are playing their first home game against Pomona Friday evening.  Come out and watch all four teams starting at about 4pm with varsity scheduled for 6:30. Go Jags!

 

~Jaguar boys soccer went to 5-3 on the season with a Tuesday night win over the Evergreen Cougars, 2-1.  Oliver Hoelscher and Will Thompson scored for the Jags with an assist by Alan Li.  Nate Hastert had three saves in goal.  The Alameda Pirates will be our next opponent this Friday4:00 pm, at Alameda High School.

 ~Come support the marching band at the Jeffco Marching Band Festival today at the Jeffco Stadium.  The band performs at 5:45 with their 2017 show Villainesque.

~Students please remind your parents that tomorrow morning at 7:30 am is Coffee with the Counselors.  Meet Mr. Northway, Ms. Harrington,  Mr. Watson and Ms. Roberts.   All Parents are invited.

~Today in Counseling, Ms. Harrington will present a Common App Workshop. Seniors, if you are planning on applying via the Common App then this workshop is a must for you. Sign up on the 7th hour counseling app.

~We will be having a Model United Nations meeting this Thursday Sept 21 during 7th hr in Ms. Holland's room, W205.  All interested 8-11 graders are invited to attend.  Please sign up with your social studies teacher.

 ~The Cross Country team is still blazing through the season.  Girls Varsity clenched 3rd at the Arvada Wildcat Invite, and Girls JV took second.  There were strong performances from all, and we're looking forward to two meets this week: the Denver North Invite today, and Dave Sanders Invite on Friday.  ~Our 4-3 soccer team defeated Ponderosa 3-2 in double overtime last Friday evening!  Tanner Starnes, Gabe Arbuthnot, and Kyle Boyd scored for the Jags with a single assist by Jett Gori.  Nate Hastert had 11 saves in goal.  Next game, Tuesday, 9/19, against Evergreen @ 5:00 pm, Lakewood Memorial Field.

~Come one!  Come all! The annual Talent Show is tonight at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Come and support some of D'Evelyn's most talented performers. The show will be hosted by Pete Dickey and Danny Terry.  A $3 suggested donation would be welcomed.  Don't miss it!!!!

 

~School Store @ Football Game Today - the D'Evelyn School Store will be selling swag and fall gear at tonight's home football game (Friday, September 15th).  The store will be open from 7:00 pm through halftime.  Come check it out!

~Join your JAGUAR FOOTBALL team for the home game tonight at Trailblazer stadium vs Classical Academy from Colorado Springs. Game starts at 7pm, come early and cheer your home team on to a second victory this year.  Wear your D’Evelyn green-lets fill the stadium with GREEN!


~Boys’ Mentoring will have their first meeting today in the cafeteria.  If you enrolled in Boys’ Mentoring, come get to know your mentors and mentees.


~National Junior Honor Society will be selling Dairy Queen Blizzards after school in the main lobby today for only $4.00. 

 

~Our first Interact Club meeting will be today in the library.

 ~Congratulations to the softball team for an exciting victory over Ralston Valley.  The Ladies beat the 5A Mustangs in a thrilling 9 inning game 5-4 score.  Great job lady Jags!!!!!

 ~Congratulations to the Boys Golf Team for finishing strong in their last league match on Monday led by Medhaj Shrestha's 78, Mitchell Blackford and Sam Spiers 79 and Philip Ahn 81.  Along with seniors Paddy Flanery and Grant Jones the boys finished Third Place overall in the League for the season.  Good luck at Regionals!!

 ~Your Cross Country team had outstanding performances on the Varsity girls team leading to a second place trophy at Liberty Bell. We also snagged JV girls first place, led by the first overall finisher in the race, Lauren Cook.  Nate MacDonald won the JV Boys race, and Lucas Jordan placed 3rd overall in the Varsity boys race. Congrats to all, and good luck today at the Elizabeth Cardinal Invitational.
