Practice Reflection
Practice Reflection is a weekly communication between orchestra students and Mrs. Bock.  Students should make a simple, achievable goal, and write down any Comments, Questions, or Reflections around the week's practice.  This year I am not asking parents to sign the reflection, nor am I giving it as much weight in grading.  The practice reflection is a way for students to take ownership over their playing, and share their successes, as well as any confusion that may arise.

Orchestra Karate

Orchestra Karate is fun way for the kids to track their progress, and be rewarded for the hard work.  It also a good incentive, as kids can see how quickly they are progressing, and measure it in a tangible way.  Also, as most classes are really struggling with turning in the required practice cards, I am awarding a "neon rainbow belt" to the student who turns in the most practice minutes on the first day of class each week.  This has really been an inspiration to some students, with the benefit of making a very audible improvement in playing ability!  What a great thing for the orchestra students to get that first hand experience that practice really helps us to improve as musicians!
You can find the requirements for each belt in the document below.
