Students may check out up to two books at one time and library
books are due every two weeks.  Students should write the due date of their
books in their daily planner as a reminder to return books  on time.  Fines are
assessed for overdue books at a rate of $.10/day/book. This is a district
expectation for all middle school students. Students must pay the replacement

Parents, to better understand the middle school library collection please read the following letter:
Dear Parents,
We would like take this opportunity to describe the library collection in our middle schools and explain how you can keep informed of the books your child is checking out from the school library.
As your students have moved from elementary school to middle school, they have access to an expanded, more diverse, and more mature library collection to serve the needs and interests of our middle school students.  You may want to have a conversation with your student about choosing books that match both your child’s maturity level as well as your family’s values.
Directions to access your child’s library account can be found directly above this letter.  Here you’ll find information about resources currently checked out, any outstanding fines, and a history of what your child has borrowed from the library.  If you would like more information, please contact our school’s Teacher-Librarian, Mrs. Thompson, for assistance.
We look forward to continuing to support your child’s curricular and independent reading choices.
Mrs. Bridget Jones Principal
