Advanced Learning Plans (ALP)

ADVANCED LEARNING PLANS
The counseling department, along with Ms. Bates, Bell's Differentiation Specialist, will be the case managers for our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students who have an ALP.  During our brief time with these students, we review student strength areas and the students set one S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely) goal for the year based off of their strength area.  If the student has multiple strength areas, they were asked to choose one area they would like to focus on and build their goal off of that area.

Parents and students can explore their students ALP via Naviance and follow the steps below to look at the goal your student has created.

  ALP Timeline:

September/October:  Counselors will meet with students to set their ALP goal for the year. (Complete Survey 1 Goal setting)

January/February:  Students will be asked to complete Survey #2 (1/30/2017-8th grade & 1/31/2017-6th & 7th grade) - Progress Monitoring on their own time.

April:  Students will complete Survey #3- Goal Completion Survey

It is important for the student to know their goal and be deliberate about the steps they need to take to accomplish their goal by May 2016. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the counseling department.  Thank you for your continued support.
