ESL (English as a Second Language) or ELL (English Language Learner) services are a partnership of ESL staff with classroom teachers to ensure students with various language backgrounds are able to meet grade level expectations in all classrooms.


What might ESL services look like for my child?


  • Co-teaching with the classroom teacher in the classroom

  • Co-planning with the classroom teacher for instruction

  • Ensuring visual supports in the classroom (anchor charts, vocabulary word walls, picture cues)

  • TPR (Total Physical Response) gestures

  • Providing content resources (leveled books, materials, realia, videos) for classroom use

  • Small group instruction for specialized English Language needs

  • Assessing student English language proficiency and analyzing data
