Dutch Creek Elementary 6th Graders

Welcome to 6th Grade!

Meet your teachers:
Mrs. Brasher
I grew up in Chicago, and moved to Colorado to attend CSU where I earned my undergrad and graduate degrees in Social Work. I then moved to Orlando to earn Elementary Education and English Language Learner Licenses. I moved back to Littleton in 2009 to continue my teaching career. This will be my 12th year teaching, 7th year as a 6th grade teacher. I am married to a principal, and we have a 9 year old daughter who attends Dutch Creek. I enjoy traveling, participating in trivia competitions, walking my dogs, reading, and spending time with my family. I'm excited to be back and for a new year!

Mrs. Turner
I am so excited to be teaching sixth grade this year at Dutch Creek! I have moved around a lot in my life since I was in a military family, but I consider Brush, Colorado to be my hometown. I attended Colorado Christian University and earned a degree in Communications - Journalism and Mass Media. During college, I took two international trips to Poland where I got my first experience in a classroom. I loved it so much that I pursued my graduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Northern Colorado. This is my second year teaching and my first year at Dutch Creek. My husband (also a 6th grade teacher in Jeffco) and I reside in the Littleton area - we love this community! I enjoy playing my saxophone, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family. I am looking forward to a wonderful year!

This site is intended to provide 6th grade families with the information and resources to help students both inside and outside the classroom.

Sixth grade is a pivotal year, and it is exciting to see students grow as learners and start to develop into young adults.

As role models for the school, 6th graders truly "Dive Deep and Fly High!"
