National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

To become a member of NHS, you must be selected as a candidate by your chapter’s faculty council. Students in grades ten, eleven, and twelve who meet the Jamestown C-I NHS chapter’s cumulative GPA requirement of 3.5 are then considered for membership on the basis of service, leadership and character. The student will be asked to complete a candidate form created and distributed by the local chapter. Membership is determined by a majority vote of the faculty council, following an evaluation of candidates’ qualifications for membership.

The Jamestown NHS chapter meets quarterly with additional lunchtime meetings announced throughout the school year. Deadline for all applicant materials is March 4, 2020. Please see documents linked below for any additional information.  We will notify those students accepted into NHS by letter shortly after March 4; in this letter they  will be notified regarding the date and time of the NHS induction ceremony.
