Computer Applications I
Course Description:

Students will broaden their understanding of computer programs. They will complete projects from an assigned textbook related to course content. They will begin to utilize word processing and presentation softwares that will be useful in the classroom as well as outside of it. 

Course Objectives:
  1. Review how to create, format, and edit a Word document with a picture
  2. Review how to create a research paper with references and sources
  3. Review how to create a business letter with a letterhead and table
  4. Learn how to do similar projects in Google Docs
  5. Study how to create and edit a PowerPoint presentation with pictures
  6. Study how to enhance a presentation with pictures, shapes, and WordArt
  7. Study how to reuse a presentation and add media and animations
  8. Learn how to do similar projects in Google Slides

Computer Applications II
Course Description:

Students will broaden their understanding of computer programs. They will complete projects from an assigned textbook related to course content. They will begin to utilize data processing and database softwares that will be useful in the classroom as well as outside of it. Prerequisite: Computer Applications I

Course Objectives:
  1. Learn to create a worksheet and a chart in Microsoft Excel
  2. Learn to utilize formulas, functions, and formatting in Microsoft Excel
  3. Learn to work with large worksheets, charting, and what-if analysis in Microsoft Excel
  4. Look at completing similar projects with Google Sheets
  5. Exposure to databases and database objects
  6. Learn to query a database
  7. Learn to maintain a database
  8. Manage email messages and calendars with Microsoft Outlook / Gmail
