Dreambox Learning is a math program that grows with your child.  As they master concepts the games get progressively more difficult.  As they complete games they earn certificates to be proud of.

News From The Classroom

  • Listening Walk
    We will be doing some science work with sound and light over the next few weeks.  Today we went on a listening walk inside and outside the school.  We were silent and counted the sounds we could hear.  It was amazing how many there were.  We got the inspiration for our listening walk from a book by the same name.  Click here to watch the story...and maybe you can take a listening walk of your own!

  • Understanding Our World
    We have been learning about our world through a study of different ecosystems.  The Amazon Rainforest is our current topic.  We have learned all about the layers of the rainforest and about how so many different species call it home.  We have been collaboratively creating a mural showing the layers and life of this amazing place.

  • November 13, 2017 Dear Families,We will be working hard this week to get our classroom ready for Open House on Thursday evening.  I hope that you will all come and see the wonderful work your children are doing at school.  The K-3 portion of Open House begins at 5:30.  At 6:00 we are all invited to the Whitney Center for the 4-6 showcase of their Immigration Study.  There will be costumes, food to taste, and music to enjoy!It is also the time of year when we do Parent/Teacher Conferences so I can update you about your child’s progress and you can check in with me about any questions you might have.  I will have a ...

  • October 23, 2017 Dear Families,Our Flat Stanleys are traveling all around the country (and a few around the world) right now.  In the past some Flat Stanley recipients have expressed interest in checking in over social media, so this year I have set up a Facebook page called JGS Flat Stanley Project.  We will look at some of the posts at school. You are welcome to follow the page at home and see what is new!  Our Flat Stanley project helps to lay important groundwork for geography and social studies as we learn about maps and globes, about different features of places and about ways that people can communicate with one another even though they are not close by.  While we wait ...
