Welcome to the Art Room

    Greetings from Mrs.Rowe!

Here's to another great and exciting school year. It has been a fantastic school year and we have been busy with some great Art projects.

What we have been doing:
5/6th Graders are creating some unique and wonderful Russian nesting dolls.

4th Graders are finishing up glazing a ceramic heart they created based on artist Jim Dine's art work.

2/3 made some abstract and colorful Jim Dine heart art work using oil pastels and a blending technique.

In K/1 we have been creating a 3-D bird using paper mache and recycled pieces.

Here at JGS our students are enthusiastic and creative artists. This is my fifth year teaching Art at JGS and I continue to be impressed by the students talent and great ideas. We are fortunate to have the Community Art Room at the Whitney Center to hold our weekly Thursday classes.

Exciting News
Our annual Art and Music Show is just around the corner. Please join us Tuesday May 12th, at the Whitney Center. Art viewing will occur first at 5;30 pm followed by the Music performance at 6:00.

Here are some samples of art work that our students created last year. Stay tuned for new art work posts for this 2014-2015 school year.
