Itawamba County Schools offers services for all students. We are committed to providing accessibility to all needed programs and facilities to ensure a free appropriate public education (FAPE) for approximately 730 students with disabilities currently identified within the district. The district is involved in on-going formal activities to identify, locate and evaluate all children from birth through 21 years of age who are suspected of having a disability and who may be in need of special education and/or related services. The district currently has 50 highly qualified special education teachers,  and 18 special education assistants located at 6 different sites. The goal of Itawamba County School District's Department of Special Education is to be a service-oriented department that provides specialized programs to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
