Collaboration is an important skill that students will develop throughout their lifetime. In science we start the year with a collaboration activity called "Moon Landing". After practicing the language of justification, agreement and comparison students worked in teams to discuss and decide which 15 items would prove to be the most useful and the least useful when preparing for a moon walk. This activity prompted students to participate in an engaging debate. Students then discussed important skills that are needed for collaboration. Some of these include: eye contact, no distractions, body language and listening attentively.
