Thank you for visiting the Wildcat Reading Family Site. Your child takes part in Wildcat Reading every single day at school. The expectation is that teachers will provide expert instruction and coaching by working one-on-one and in small groups while students practice reading a minimum of one hour a day, 30 minutes at school and 30 minutes at home. Teachers provide a focus for reading and teach specific reading skills and strategies that students need to practice. The 30 minutes at home every night can include reading books from the Wildcat Reading Book Bag, practicing power goals and/or using the skills cards with parents. Please see videos below for more information.

We hope that you find this website helpful as you work with your child. There are videos showing you how to coach your child as well as how to use the skills cards. There are also links for more information about your child's reading level along with helpful tips. We will continue to update the website so check back frequently!
