It's been a great first month at JHS! See below for some highlights of our first weeks together and Homecoming Week! Concert Choir performed the National Anthem at the homecoming football game on Friday night and represented well. Our first choir concert is in two weeks and we are looking forward to getting back on stage!

HARMONIX and the International Championship of High School A Cappella!

Congratulations to HARMONIX for being accepted into the INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS OF HIGH SCHOOL A CAPPELLA COMPETITION (The real life Pitch Perfect!). What is ICHSA? Take a look at the top high school group from last year - they won at the FINALS in NYC. Last year Harmonix placed 4th at their Midwest Quarterfinal and we are determined to place higher and advance to the next round this year! It will be a great journey to follow and/or be a part of!!

This year the quarterfinal is on Saturday, February 23rd at Southwest Christian High School in Chaska - it is a 20 minute drive from Jordan High School. We would LOVE to have as many Jordan supporters there as possible!

The tickets are $17 for students and $22 for adults/general public. We will NOT be providing a bus because it is too close to Jordan and it would only cost the students more $$ to attend. As an ensemble we will caravan there and will be asking parents to help as much as they can.

If you would like to order tickets THROUGH MRS. MCKNIGHT, please FILL OUT THE FORM BELOW indicating how many tickets you would like. Mrs. McKnight will place an order on NOVEMBER 30TH. Otherwise, you can order tickets on your own HERE - but they will SELL OUT QUICKLY.

Happy Homecoming!

It's been a great week at JHS! Lots of fun dress up days and Concert Choir representing at the football game by singing the National Anthem. Go Hubmen!

In addition to it being Homecoming, our select a cappella ensembles have been announced. It was a great round of auditions and there were a lot of tough decisions to make! Be sure to check out the a cappella ensembles at our upcoming choir concerts!

A great start to the school year!

The first two weeks of the year have been wonderful! Lots of laughs, singing, and getting to know one another. Our first concert is less than a month away! Time flies when you're having fun!

The first "A Cappella Camp" took place this week in the JHS Choir room. Students that were interested in learning more about contemporary a cappella learned advanced vocal technique, music theory and composition tools to improve their musicianship skills. We also played around with some looping apps and vocal sound effects. Of course it wouldn't be a great choir event without some fun musical movement activities!
