Industrial Technology/Instructor

My name is Mr. Randall Sims and will be instructing Small Engines, Welding I and Welding II, Ag Mechanics and one period of Woods at Fosston High School. Now, a little about myself. I am originally from Bagley, MN and have been teaching for 24 years. I attended Moorhead Technical College from 1980-1982 and earned a degree in Auto Mechanics. I worked a few years in the Fargo/Moorhead area as a mechanic and earned the Automotive Service Excellence certification in engine performance, electrical, and brakes. I attended Bemidji State University earning a degree in  Industrial Technology Education. While going to school, I also enlisted in the Army National Guard. I was honorably discharged in 1992 after Desert Storm.
I have taught at several schools all with their own characteristics. The first one was in southern Arizona. There I instructed students in: woodworking, auto mechanics, and welding. I also coached football, basketball, and softball. After 6 years in Arizona, my next teaching job took place at Badger Public Schools. Here I taught auto mechanics, woodworking, and welding, as well as, building construction, industrial math, graphic arts, computer aided drafting, and small engines for 3 years. Morris, MN was next teaching industrial technology in the 7th and 8th grades, welding in the 9th grade, and woodworking in 10th grade. I taught for 2 years. there. Budget cuts came to Morris and I moved on to Sauk Centre, MN. where I  spent the last 14 years. teaching welding, small engines, industrial technology to 7th grade students, and auto mechanics, and super mileage vehicle. I am Vocational Certified in transportation/welding areas as well.

I am looking forward to working at Fosston High School as the staff and the folks around town have made me feel very welcome.
