  • Bag Day Bag Day is once again upon us. Again bag day fell on the Tuesday after presidents day so that means we had Thursday, Saturday, and Monday to be in the shop. The team has worked tirelessly and put in 40 hours over these 3 days to get all of the final pieces in place. As build season ends, competition season begins. On behalf of team 2509, we wish all teams competing this year good luck and hope that they have fun in their experience. We encourage you to follow us on Twitter, like our Facebook page and get the FRC spyder app or the blue alliance app for updates on our team and our scores while at the competition.

  • From Duluth to St. Louis If you would have told us at the beginning of the season that we would go on to win both Duluth and Minneapolis we would have told you that you were crazy. We went to 10,000 lakes with the intention of gearing up for St.Louis and to prove to ourselves that we deserved to be at worlds. We exceeded our expectations in all areas. Although we had a couple times of immense stress, doubt, and worry we made it through the weekend. In a day, we will be departing for St.Louis. We are incredibly excited for the opportunity to compete with such great teams from all around the world. Thanks again to everybody that helped us get ...

  • Worst to First All our hard work has paid off. When the team was driving up to Duluth for this competition it is safe to say we didn't expect much. We were expecting to use this competition to practice driving to get ready for 10,000 lakes. We knew we had more driving practice than most other teams but still didn't have high expectations for this competition. By Friday night we were ranked 6th and were anticipating being an alliance captain or at the very least getting to quarterfinals. Going into alliance selections were were the 3rd ranked team. We picked the 6th ranked team in the first round of Alliance selections and the 16th ranked in the 2nd. We have ...

  • Build week #2 We have been hard at work strategizing and building our robot for the STEAMWORKS competition. In just 4 and a half short weeks we will have to bag up our robot. These past two weeks the build team has made multiple prototypes of the different subsystems, and continued to improve design. We are trying to use our original design gearbox that we made two years ago. The programming team has been training new programmers and working with mecanum wheels.  Along with the build and programming teams, the media team has been very productive. They have completed all four of the FedEx media challenges and are anxiously waiting for more to be uploaded.
