  • Stewie Edges Past Bulldogs A Saturday afternoon matinee provided another exciting game for the Bulldogs, but this time it was the Stewartville Tigers coming out victorious by a final score of 64-59.  The Bulldogs were balanced in the scoring department with Brady Ziebell and Gavin Folkert pacing them with 14 a piece.  Folkert had an efficient shooting night going 5-8 from the field and adding 3-4 from the three point line.  Barron Holtz added to the scoring with 13 of his own.  The last tie in the game came at the 1:20 mark right before Stewie added a layup to take the lead.  A missed 3 point attempt made it a fouls game and the Tigers converted.  The Bulldogs are ...

  • OT Thriller!!!! If you paid $6 to get in, all 600 pennies were well spent.  A phenomenal effort from both teams led to overtime and an eventual home win for the PEM Bulldogs.  The dogs led most of the first half and surrendered the lead with just seconds left to head to the break 26-25.  Cannon Falls led most of the second half and held a 9 point lead on multiple occasions with 7 minutes left.  Great offensive ball reversals and passing got the Bulldogs back into the game with a 54-52 lead for the Bombers with 3 minutes to play.  The whistle was blowing very often on the night and saw Cannon Falls shoot 40 free throws converting 30 ...

  • Bulldogs Claw Out Road Win Back home the top ranked ladies were in a packed gym taking on the Eagles from Dover-Eyota. That meant the boys were on the road.  Even with much of Dover and Eyota in Plainview, the gym was pretty full and the PEM boys didn't disappoint.  After trailing 20-13 the Dogs got things going with nice inside baskets by Chason Cordova and Brady Ziebell.  Carson Root added to the scoring with a couple deep threes on the night and the Dogs took a 28-25 lead into the half.  The Bulldogs were the ones to get it going early in the second half with great defense and a few nice steals by Barron Holtz.  A big 3 pointer ...

  • PEM Drops 2 Games at the End of the Week PEM played well in both the Thursday and Friday games but dropped both to 1A foes.  PEM lost to Wabasha-Kellogg in a barn burner on Thursday.  The Bulldogs had chances at the free throw line but couldn't convert and saw a last second lane shop drip off the rim and give the Falcons a 1 point victory.  The final score was 52-51.  Friday, PEM traveled to Minneapolis to take on the Wolves of MN Transitions.  The MN Transitions entered the year ranked #5 in class A.  A tightly contested first half had the Wolves on top at half by 2 points.  Hot shooting from MN Transitions to start the second half could have made the Bulldogs lay ...

  • Returning State Champs Too Much For PEM Rushford-Peterson traveled to PEM for a conference showdown against the Bulldogs on Tuesday.  The game was decided by shooting percentage.  RP shot 55% and the Bulldogs shot 26% from the floor. Normally a great shooting team, the Bulldogs were stifled by the home rims.  Barron Holtz led the Dogs with 18 points.  Gavin Folkert added 9 to the home squad.  The Bulldogs will play home against conference rival Wabasha-Kellogg on Thursday and then travel to Minneapolis for a showdown with the MN Transitions on Friday.  Hope to see a packed gym both nights.
