Burnsville High School AVID

BHS Avid

Burnsville High school is proud to offer AVID for our students! AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), is a college readiness program that helps students identify and develop the skills necessary to be successful in high school and college.  The AVID curriculum is driven by WICOR (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading) standards. These standards and strategies will be used in both the AVID elective courses as well as other content specific classes at BHS.   Students chosen to be a part of the program will be supported through their AVID elective course, the AVID site team, and BHS teachers who are committed to the goal of college and career readiness.
