Pequot Lakes Schools uses data from several sources to help best meet the needs of all students.  The Academic Program Design and Procedures for High Ability Students is in compliance with Minnesota state statute and encompasses options at each level in the district.

Eagle View Elementary Program Options
  • Early Entrance to Kindergarten
    • practice of admitting a student to kindergarten who has not yet reached 5 years old by September 1
  • Cluster Grouping
    • assigning 4-6 high ability students within their grade to be instructed through differentiation
  • Subject Acceleration
    • provides access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities
  • Grade Acceleration
    • moving a student to a higher grade level than is typical
  • Cognitive Abilities Test Grade 2
    • measures reasoning ability in specific aptitude areas

Pequot Lakes Middle Level Program Options
  • Honors Courses 
    • provide qualified students with an enhanced and enriched learning experience
    • Accelerated Mathematics
    • Honors English - Reading/Writing

Pequot Lakes High School Program Options
  • Honors Courses Grades 9 & 10
    • provide qualified students with an enhanced and enriched learning experience
    • Honors Science, English, History, & Geometry
  • College in the Schools (CIS)
    • taught during the school day and are offered through a partinership betweenthe high school and college or university
  • Post Secondary Education Option (PSEO)
  • Testing Out
