Hi! I'm Ms. Menzel and I'm really glad you are visiting my website. One of the first things you should know about me is that I absolutely love teaching! I am excited to be in the classroom each day and enjoy seeing the creativity, innovation, and problem solving of each of my students. I also love art- specifically mathematical art- and I have a passion for combining my love of math and art/design through the process of engineering! In addition to Intermediate Algebra and Geometry, I also teach Intro to Engineering and Design through Project Lead The Way- which is a national initiative to provide STEM opportunities for high school students while also giving them the opportunity to earn college credit for their work! I have been teaching for 12 years, with 10 of those years spent right here at Brainerd High School. I earned my degree in Teaching Mathematics from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2004 and my Masters in Education/Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2009. I have been a PLTW certified teacher since 2011. I live in Brainerd with my husband, 3 children, and my dog Spatula. In my spare time I love to read, be outdoors, and do DIY projects!
