OdysseyWare Math Class Expectations:

  • OdysseyWare Lessons

    • 80% = Passing

    • 3 attempts

    • After the third attempt, if your score is below 80, you must correctly do each incorrect problem (show your work! or identify where you found the answer) in your notebook and go over them with Bridget before moving on to next the lesson.

  • OdysseyWare Quizzes

    • Up to 2 chances on OdysseyWare Quizzes.

    • After the first attempt, if your score is unacceptable, I may give you some practice questions to do before your re-take.

    • After the second chance, the score you get is the score you keep.

  • OdysseyWare Tests

    • Only 1 chance on OdysseyWare Tests.

    • If the score is worse than Pre-Test (Alternate Test) score, or if your test score results in a failing grade for the Unit, it may be necessary to go back and redo the Unit.

  • Students’ goal progress should be to complete approximately 6% per week to finish the class within 18 weeks.  -OR-  As indicated on OdysseyWare Course Goal Sheet.

OdysseyWare Online Math @ Home Guidelines:

  • Students are welcome to work on their OdysseyWare math class online at home.  This is IN ADDITION to your regular AEC schedule.  Calling in to say you will be working at home instead of coming to class is unacceptable and still counts as an absence.  Absences may result in the loss of that class.

  • Assignments may be completed at home, but quizzes and tests must be completed during class at the AEC.

  • To receive credit for assignments completed outside of school, an OdysseyWare message must be sent stating which assignment(s) has/have been completed and when.

  • Students working on OdysseyWare during non-school hours should understand messages will not be received until the following school day morning and a response will be sent when possible. (In other words, please do not expect immediate responses.)

Plato Math
  • The Plato math site requires that a student obtain at least 80% to move on to the next lesson, so a student continues trying until the 80% is reached.
  • Unfortunately, the software is ONLY available in school, so there is no @ home option.

A little bit about myself.

I am 100% Irish, and VERY proud of it!  I grew up in the suburbs of St. Paul and graduated from Totino-Grace High School and then the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Math Education.  I did not go into teaching immediately, however, working in insurance for 7 years, until my second son was born.  I was then able to be a 'stay at home mom' with my four children.  I started working from home just after my youngest was born, but decided it was time to get back to my first love, Math, when she started school.  I was a substitute teacher for 5 years before I began teaching at the Milaca Alternative Learning Center.  I was only there for just over a year before coming to the Brainerd AEC, where I teach Math.  I really LOVE the students, teachers, and staff here!

My husband (of over 25 years) and I live in Pierz, MN, with our four children.  We are very busy going to their sporting events, concerts, and anything else in which they may be involved.  Our family loves to fish, camp, play cards, and to laugh!  I also enjoy baking, knitting and shopping!

I am VERY excited to be a part of the Brainerd  community!
