Hi! My name is Mrs. Koman, and I absolutely love teaching! I am lucky enough to being doing exactly what I feel that I was born to do. You will find that I am a positive, energetic person who works hard to bring my best to the classroom each day. I believe that all students can succeed and will work to support each and every one of you. Please don't hesitate to ask for help!
I'm a Brainerd graduate. I grew up on a dairy farm east of Brainerd as the oldest of five children. Upon high school graduation, I attended both Brainerd Community College and Bemidji State University. I graduated from Bemidji State University in 1997 and taught seventh grade English for four years in Fergus Falls before returning home to teach ninth grade. In 2005, I earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Southwest Minnesota State University.
This is my twentieth year teaching. My husband is also a teacher; he teaches kindergarten at Nisswa. Together, we are the proud parents of two wonderful little girls--ages 8 and 1/2. In my spare time, I like to be outside, read, take pictures, scrapbook, spend time with family and friends, cheer on the Twins, or make crafts.
To help you be successful, please know that I am available before and after school. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to see me between the hours of 7:45 and 3:45.
