Akshay Sharma is an award-winning tech analyst, with awards from Siemens, Gartner and the IEEE. He has authored or co-authored over 280 research notes on emerging technologies like SD-WAN, 5G, mobile video, Cybersecurity, IoT, etc. in the past decade. A frequent speaker at tech events, he is often quoted in leading institutions like CNN, Wall St. Journal, etc. He is a former CTO of one of the first video/WiFi smartphone firms, and is on the advisory board for 5G Lamp-post solutions vendor LB-N, Unified Communications provider Unified Office, and emerging DevOps Cloud provider Kovair. He was a contributor to legacy telecom standards, VoIP, and ARINC 629 Databus used in many aircraft for fly-by-wire. He is originally from Ottawa, having worked for Nortel and Bell Canada, where he attended his PhD-level Computer Engineering studies, at Carleton University.
