Assistant/Associate Professor – International Relations 

The Department of Political Science at Sam Houston State University is conducting a search for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in International Relations to begin on or before August 2010. We are seeking a highly qualified candidate that is broadly trained in International Relations however a specialization in one or more of the following is beneficial: international organization, international political economy, conflict resolution, and international relations theory. Candidates will teach classes at the undergraduate and graduate level, including introductory American politics courses. We also seek candidates with strong methodological skills and the ability to teach our undergraduate and graduate courses in research and methods. The department is seeking a dynamic and successful scholar who will help expand its research and extramural funding, strengthen its existing degree programs, and expand its degree offerings, possibly to the doctoral level. In addition, the individual will be expected to maintain excellence in publication and teaching. 

The department currently has 15 faculty members and offers BA, BS, MA, and MPA degrees. Sam Houston State University is located in historic Huntsville, sixty miles north of Houston. 

Requirements: Appropriate doctorate is required, excellence in research and publication, extramural funding, and quality instruction. Consideration will begin November 15 and continue until the position is filled.
