Xavier University invites nominations and applications for the Helal, Hisham and Laila Edris ElSwedey University Chair in Islamic Studies beginning August 2010. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to help develop and enrich Xavier’s relationship with the Muslim community in Cincinnati, in particular, with the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati (http://www.icgc.info/). Please indicate any past experience working with an Islamic Center or evidence of engagement with local Muslim communities beyond that of a university or college. The leadership of the Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati will have input into the selection process.
