Assistant Professor - Comparative Politics; Specialization in African Politics, Tenure-Track

The Department of Politics at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Comparative Politics (subject to budgetary approval). Area of Specialization: African Politics, ideally with focus on development and aid. Applicants should articulate a commitment to interdisciplinary exploration and applied research; methodological approach is open. The appointment will begin Fall 2015.
The successful candidate will teach introductory courses as well as upper division courses in their area(s) of expertise. The teaching load consists of two 4-unit courses per semester, plus one additional 4-unit course over two years (2-2-2-3 over two years).
Candidates must have university teaching experience, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, evidence of scholarship (or substantial promise for research and publications), dedication to service, and an earned doctorate in Political Science or a related field by August 31, 2015. The candidate will be expected to develop an independent and ongoing research program.
