The School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore offers a stimulating and multidisciplinary education and research in the humanities and social sciences, and is home to nine major disciplines for undergraduate and postgraduate (Chinese, English Literature, Economics, Linguistics and Multilingual Studies, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, History, and Public Policy and Global Affairs). To further strengthen teaching and research capacities, the School is recruiting a number of new faculty members in the following areas, to start in August 2014 or earlier.
Public Policy and Global Affairs Programme
The Public Policy and Global Affairs (PPGA) programme is an integral provider of public policy education in NTU. It consists of an undergraduate curriculum with Major and Minor options in Public Policy and Global Affairs, General Elective Courses, as well as, a PhD programme by research. It recruited four assistant professors in 2013 and will recruit another three in 2014 to meet its growing academic and research missions.
Position 1: Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Politics
Candidate should possess a PhD and proven records of accomplishments in teaching and research, and are able to demonstrate the ability to develop teaching and research field that covers global environmental politics with a special expertise in Asian environmental politics.
Position 2: Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Southeast Asia Politics and Singapore Politics
Candidate should possess a PhD and proven records of accomplishments in teaching and research, and are able to demonstrate the ability to develop teaching and research field that covers comparative politics in Asia with a special expertise in Southeast Asian, in particular in the government and politics of Singapore, public administration in Singapore, public policy in Singapore, and Singapore foreign policy.
Position 3: Senior Lecturer in Public Administration and Singapore politics
Candidate should possess a PhD and proven records of accomplishments in teaching and research, and are able to demonstrate the ability to develop teaching and research field that covers public administration and public policy, or public policy in Singapore.
