The Department of Politics and International Relations at Florida International University invites applications at the ranks of assistant or associate professor to fill two positions in international relations. We particularly need faculty with expertise in international relations theory, international law, and foreign policy-making or analysis. Candidates should hold the terminal degree in their field. Subject to budget availability, the start date will be August 2014.
We seek applications from scholars who will complement our existing strengths and broaden our curricular offerings. The international relations degree program has a rigorous theory component as well as an interdisciplinary focus. The Department is home to more than 2,400 undergraduate majors, over 100 graduate students, and about 40 full-time faculty (see pir.fiu.edu). Situated in the School of International and Public Affairs (see sipa.fiu.edu), faculty enjoy opportunities to work with colleagues in seven other departments as well as SIPA’s centers and institutes (i.e. the African and African Diaspora Studies program, the Asian Studies program, the Center for the Administration of Justice, the Cuban Research Institute, the European Studies Center, the Global Energy Security Forum, the Jewish Studies Program, the Latin American and Caribbean Center, Middle East Studies, and the Strategic Language Institute).
