IBEI Junior (Assistant) Professors 2010 - 3 positions

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) invites applications for three full-time tenure-track positions in Political Science, with a special interest in International Relations and International Political Economy, at the Assistant Professor level. These positions are part of IBEI’s ambition to raise its international research profile. The positions should begin no later than 1 October 2010. Five-year contracts will be offered. At the end of the fourth year, the Assistant Professor’s performance will be reviewed. In the event of a positive review, a permanent contract will be offered. Candidates who already have a strong publication record, earlier evaluation for tenure consideration will be possible. 

Candidates must have a Ph.D. obtained by the time they will join IBEI and a promising record of methodologically rigorous publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or major scholarly presses. The Assistant Professor is expected to teach in IBEI’s Master’s degree program and to participate in IBEI activities and research programs. Salary conditions are internationally competitive and will include support for research expenses. Excellent personal skills and an ability to contribute to collaborative research projects are also essential for this position. Applications must be submitted by 15 December 2009.
