Creativity, activity, service (CAS) is at the heart of the Diploma Programme. It is one of the three essential elements in every DP student’s experience and is a mandatory component of the curriculum for all students in 11th and 12th grades. CAS enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning. At the same time, it provides an important balance to the academic pressures of the rest of the Diploma. A good CAS experience should be both challenging and enjoyable, a personal journey of self-discovery.
Through CAS you will develop several important Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills. You will practice your social skills through the CAS Project, and you will develop your thinking skills as you reflect on your CAS experiences. Self-management will also be challenged as you balance your CAS experiences with your academic work.
