Referee Points System
To entice more people to step up and volunteer to referee games as their kids get older, AYSO Region 213 has implemented a Referee Points System which impacts a team's standings.
Due to changes in the format for the Fall Season, the Referee Points System has also been modified.
Teams can earn a maximum of 1 Referee Point (RP) per week from doing games as referee or assistant referee. The week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday.
Each game has a total points value of 2 Referee Points (or "RPs"). The referee (in uniform and signed up in the scheduling system) earns one (1) RP for the team they designate. Each assistant referee earns one-half RP for the team they designate. Ideally, one team supplies the referee while the other team supplies both assistant referees.
No team can earn RPs if there match was canceled because no certified referee registered to conduct the match (and neither team can "make up" the lost RPs by doing additional games in a subsequent weekend).
Additional RPs can be earned through referee certifications in the current season:
All RPs must be reported by the referee or assistant referee to the Referee Points Administrator no later than 5 PM on the Sunday following the Saturday game.
No RPs are earned for doing games not assigned to AYSO Region 213.
