The Risk Management Quality Assurance (RMQA) Unit was established to ensure that the Institute makes every effort to manage risks accordingly in order to maximize opportunities and minimize adverse effects.

The Institute considers risk management to be fundamental to good management practice and organizational governance. Effective risk management provides an essential contribution to the achievement of the Institute’s strategic and operational objectives and goals.

Quality assurance ensures that IRRI’s research outputs and products are of the highest verifiable quality through the application of QA processes and practices. Maintaining IRRI’s reputation as a center for scientific excellence and integrity in rice research is one of the important objectives of risk management.

RMQA is responsible in implementing the Institute’s risk management policies; quality assurance procedures, processes, and practices; enhancement of staff awareness through training workshops; and monitoring compliance. (View the RMQA structure)
