My wife, Becky and I moved to Cedar City twenty years ago. We just celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary. Becky is the love of my life. She puts up with me on a regular basis. She teaches first grade at North Elementary. We have four amazing children. Three girls and a boy. Our son, Jordan graduated from CVHS in May 2011. He graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2017 with a degree in Public Relations. He served a mission for the LDS church in Honduras. He is married to the wonderful Kaylee Connors. They are expecting their first child in October. I'm going to be a grandpa!! Whitney graduated from CVHS in May 2013. She is a Master Esthetician. She lives in Brigham City, Utah. She is the happiest person I know. Courtney graduated from CVHS in May 2017. Courtney is serving an LDS mission in Iowa. She loves to surf and hula. Madee is a junior here at CVHS. Bug her...non-stop! She is a soccer diva and loves to try new things (like golf, singing and cooking).

I grew up in Virginia and graduated from high school there. I spent my time playing football, basketball, soccer and golf. I love to read. My educational pursuits brought me to Utah. (I kinda followed my girlfriend at the time, now my wife, as well!) I attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a minor in Japanese Studies. I loved my time in college! Later, I finished a History minor and received my teaching credential from Southern Utah University. This is my fourteenth year teaching.

We moved to Texas after I finished at BYU. I worked as a Japanese translator for several years at a car parts manufacturing plant. It was good work. Family brought us to Cedar City. I worked in the cellphone industry and sold real estate for a short time. All of those experiences led me to my final destination: teaching.

Teaching is my passion. I enjoy interacting with students and watching them learn and grow. I like to have fun in my classroom. Things can get exciting and interesting at the same time! I have enjoyed teaching the social sciences. History and government are subjects that I enjoyed in school and still love to study today. I also coach here at CVHS. Coaching is another passion of mine. I currently coach or have coached Ladies Soccer, Ladies Golf and Boy's Basketball. Coaching has provided some of my best teaching experiences to date. I love to tell my student/athletes, "Always remember, the passion is in the risk."
