What grading looks like in 3rd Grade
The third grade report card utilizes a 1-4 scale for assessment of academic areas.
A 4 would indicate that your student exceeds grade level expectations in that skill or concept. They do not need teacher assistance.
A 3 would indicate that your student meets grade level expectations in that skill or concept. They need minimal teacher assistance.
A 2 would indicate that your student is working toward grade level expectations in that skill or concept. They need teacher assistance when working on this skill area.
A 1 would indicate that your student is not meeting grade level expectations in that skill or concept. Most often, they are unable to perform when working in this skill area.
An X indicates an area that is not yet assessed.
A report will be sent out quarterly. If I have concerns about your student's performance in class I will contact you. Occasionally, students will bring home work that was not finished in class and will be asked to complete it at home to make sure they are not missing out on important instruction.
