Staff Information

Hello and welcome to the Indian River Sports Medicine Page.

My name is Rob Brookes and I am the athletic trainer here at Indian River.  A little about me, I was born and raised in Portland Maine graduated from Portland High School, where I played football (go bulldogs).  After high school I went into the service and was stationed in Mannheim Germany and Ft. Hood Texas, so I truly understand the military life and the demands of those that serve.

I went back to school much later in life received an Associates degree in Automated Office Management from Southern Maine Community College.  I later went to University of Southern Maine (go huskies) and received my bachelors of science degree in Athletic Training, after completing my internship at ESPN at Disney.  I did my graduate studies at SUNY Potsdam, where I was the Athletic Trainer primarily for men's basketball and men's lacrosse, also volunteering my time at Potsdam High School working with football. After I received my Masters of Science in Education, I moved to Albuquerque New Mexico and worked at Volcano Vista High School (go Hawks).  Missing the east coast I decided to move back and was very fortunate to become the athletic trainer at Indian River High School (go warriors).

I have worked 2 Boston marathons, Division 1 football, division 1 women's hockey, Division III wrestling, Division III cross country championships, Special Olympics, Brian Leonard Football Camp, and most recently the Alejandro Villanueva football camp on Ft. Drum.  I am extremely passionate about athletic training and feel that all high schools should have Athletic Training coverage.

My number one priority here is to make sure your athlete receives the best on and off field care as possible.  my door is always open and I am just a phone call away.
