Athletic Training Policies

VisitATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM RULES

DO NOT USE THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM WITHOUT PERMISSION FROM THE ATHLETIC TRAINER OR COACH IF THE ATHLETIC TRAINER IS NOT PRESENT.

 

NO STUDENT IS TO BE LEFT ALONE IN THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM. 

 

ATHLETIC TRAINER OR COACH MUST BE PRESENT WHEN STUDENTS ARE IN THE ROOM.

 

NO EATING IN THE ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM. (EXCEPTIONS APPLY)

            THERE IS TO BE NO CELL PHONE USE, NO                         TEXTING, FACEBOOK OR HANGING OUT.  COME IN                 GET TREATMENT AND GO TO PRACTICE OR GAME.

            EQUIPMENT IS TO BE LEFT OUTSIDE OF THE                          ATHLETIC TRAINING ROOM.

 

YOU WILL NOT BE LATE TO PRACTICE UNLESS YOUR COACH HAS GIVEN YOU PERMISSION TO DO SO.  

DO NOT SHOW UP 5 MIN BEFORE YOU ARE TO LEAVE AND WANT TAPING, OR AN EVALUATION OF AN INJURY. UNLESS YOUR COACH KNOWS AND HAS GIVEN YOU PERMISSION.


TAPING POLICY:

TAPING WILL ONLY OCCUR IF THE ATHLETE HAS SUSTAINED AN INJURY DURING THE GAME AND A EVALUATION  HAS BEEN PERFORMED ON THE INJURED JOINT OR MUSCLE.

TAPING IS NOT A PERMANENT SOLUTION, THE ATHLETE WILL GO THROUGH REHAB AND STRENGTHENING AND TAPE WILL BE DISCONTINUED. 

RELYING ON TAPE CAN ACTUALLY HAVE THE REVERSE ACTION AND WEAKEN MUSCULATURE SURROUNDING THE INJURED AREA.  

IF THERE IS A NEED FOR PERMANENT SUPPORT OF AN INJURY,  BRACING WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THAT TIME.
