Mr. Biehl's Physical Education Class

Dear Patterson Families,

My name is Derrick Biehl. I am your child’s  Physical Education Teacher this year. A little bit about myself: I’m from a small town south of Buffalo, New York. I went to college at the College of Brockport which is near Buffalo; there I received my Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certificate in K-12 Physical Education. After Graduation I took a few years off to travel and do service work with AmeriCorps where I traveled the southwest part of the United States and worked for Non-Profits. Afterwards I ended up in Aurora, Illinois where last year I worked for West Aurora School District 129 and I was the Permanent Pre-School Substitute for the year. This year I am excited to be part of the Patterson Prairie Dogs team!

The Physical Education Program here at Patterson is focused on teaching your children how to be “life-long movers.” We will be working on a variety of locomotor skills, and movement patterns. Some big things to remember for the gym are:

-        Make sure to bring closed toe shoes on PE days.

-        During PE, students are expected to give their best effort to learn the skills we teach.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me by phone or email. My office number is: (630) 428-6512 and my email is derrick_biehl@ipsd.org

            Sincerely,

                        Mr. Biehl
