Purchase Protection

Amex offers a 90 day insurance policy that covers any accidental damages or losses on items purchased on your card. This includes when an item is lost, stolen, dropped/damaged, liquid spills on electronics, etc.

Extended Warranty

Items purchased with your company American Express card are covered under an extended warranty program which doubles the duration of the manufacturers warranty (eg: a six month warranty would be extended an additional six months by American Express.) This means that anything purchased on an Insigniam Amex (including computers, iPads, iPhones and other equipment) will be eligible for a replacement or reimbursement for repairs if the reason for the repair would have been covered by the terms of the original manufacturer warranty.

Extended Warranty WILL NOT Cover:

Virtually no warranty will cover physical damage to the item such as damage from dropping it or spilling liquids on something electronic (this applies to all Apple products). If the product in question has an additional insurance policy (such as one with a cell phone provider) please file a claim under that policy since physical damage can often be covered.

Extended Warranty Will Cover:

This will vary depending on what the item is, but typically most warranties are limited to defective products. This would generally refer to something that happens without any apparent reason such as a computer not turning on. Please consult the manufacturers  warranty of the product in question to determine whether or not your item is covered.

Filing a Claim:

If you want to file a claim to have your item replaced or a repair covered, you will need the following:

-Original Amex receipt (talk to someone in Finance)

-Purchase receipt copy (for computer/tech items, please talk to someone in IT)

-The original item (for Extended Warranty)

-An estimate to repair the item

-The credit card number it was purchased with
