How to Install or Update Insigniam Microsoft Office Templates

These instructions use looping animated images to help you understand what actions to take.

Install Templates

1. Download the latest template files by clicking the download button [shown in image] at the following link:

2. Unzip the files by double clicking the archive that is downloaded to your computer. A new folder will be created with the new set of Microsoft Office templates located inside various folders.

3. In Finder, select Go to Folder…. from the Go menu.

Paste the following text into the window that opens 

~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/User Templates/

Click Go.

A new Finder window will open up.

IMPORTANT: If you do not have a "My Templates" [case sensitive] folders inside of the User Templates folder, create one now.

IMPORTANT: If you are updating the templates, delete any folders containing old Insigniam templates.

4. Drop each of the folders that were inside the folder you unzipped into the "My Templates" folder.

5. Lastly, drag the "My Templates" folder to the sidebar Favorites, so they are more easily accessible for future use. 

You can close all Finder windows now, the templates have been installed. Follow the below instructions to set up Word and Powerpoint for using the templates.

Set Word to present these templates when you open Word

NOTE: If you've already done this, you don't have to do it each time templates are updated

1. Open Word, open a blank sheet and go to Word > Preferences

2. Select General

3. Check the last box that says “Open Word Document Gallery…”

4. Click OK

Now when you open Word, a gallery will be displayed with your installed Templates

Set Powerpoint to present these templates when you open Powerpoint

NOTE: If you've already done this, you don't have to do it each time templates are updated

1. Open Powerpoint, open a blank presentation and go to Powerpoint > Preferences

2. Select General

3. Check the third box down that says “Open Powerpoint Presentations Gallery….”

4. Click OK

Now, when you open Powerpoint, a gallery will be displayed with your installed Templates

Once you've completed these steps, a template gallery will open when you open Word or Powerpoint and you can choose the Insigniam templates, as shown below.
