The 7.2 magnitude event occurred at 3:40pm PDT, 22:40 UTC, on Sunday, April 4th, 2010. The epicenter was located 30 miles (48km) SSE of Calexico, CA. The closest town is 11 miles (17,7km) WSW from the epicenter, located at Guadalupe Victoria, Baja California Norte, Mexico. The fault rupture appears to extend 75km northwest, from the epicenter in Baja California through the US-Mexico border.
