Short Bio

Carlo Puliafito received the Ph.D. degree in Smart Computing jointly from the Universities of Pisa and Florence, Italy, in 2020. In 2019, he was a visiting Ph.D. student at the School of Computer Science and Informatics of Cardiff University, U.K. Since 2023, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Pisa. His research interests include distributed systems and computer networks, with a specific focus on service continuity and cloud-edge orchestration. Puliafito is co-author of about 40 peer-reviewed papers and participated to national and european projects in the field. He has co-chaired international conferences and workshops and is in the editorial board of IEEE Internet of Things Journal and Elsevier Future Generation Computer Systems. In June 2023, Puliafito achieved the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for the position of Associate Professor in the Competition Sector 09/H1 (Information Processing Systems).
