All my life I’ve been part of this community and a “Mustang”. I decided to become a teacher while tutoring and furthered my education at the University of Northern Iowa and became a proud graduate with a double major of Elementary and Middle Level Education with a math minor. After becoming more familiar in the Independence School District while substitute teaching, I started teaching sixth grade in 2007. Working with some of my former teachers is an honor and a pleasure.
When I'm not in the classroom with students, I stay busy with my family which consists of my husband, Robert, and my children: Keira, Adaline, and Owen. I also can't forget our dogs, Shermin and Sophie. No matter what the weather, our family loves to be outside in the open air--hiking, walking, biking, and gardening.
