Hello!
I'm glad you stopped by!
This is my 21st year here in the Independence Community School District. I love it! I taught Junior Kindergarten/Early Childhood Special Education for 5 years, then just ECSE for 1 year before transferring to 3rd grade. I taught 3rd grade for 7 years, K-2 Special Education for one year and this is my 7th year as a first grade teacher at East Elementary!
I have my Masters Degree in Quality Schools, which I received from Graceland University in 2008. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2001 with a BA Degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education, with a Special Education minor in PK-3rd grade. I also have my Reading Endorsement.
I currently live in Waterloo and have lived in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area for about 23 years! My husband and I were married in 2008 and we have two children. Ava is 13 years old and Jacob is 10!
I love spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy watching movies, going for bike rides and walks, and playing games together! In my spare time (which isn't much!) I enjoy reading and exercising!
Go Mustangs!
