I'm glad you stopped by!
This is my 11th year here in the Independence Community School District. I love it! I taught Junior Kindergarten/Early Childhood Special Education for 5 years, then just ECSE for 1 year before transferring to 3rd grade. This is my fifth year teaching 3rd grade and I am thoroughly enjoying the students! I loved having some of my students that I had back in JK and/or ECSE!
I have my Masters Degree in Quality Schools, which I received from Graceland University in 2008. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2001 with a BA Degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education, with a Special Education minor in PK-3rd grade. I also have my Reading Endorsement.
I currently live in Waterloo and have lived in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo area for about 15 years! I did live in Independence for about 2 years before meeting my husband, Chris. Chris is an Accountant at Bergan Paulsen in Waterloo. We were married in 2008 and we have two children. Ava is 3 1/2 years old and Jake is 7 months old! We have one cat named Smokey.
